My wife and I do some touring and she rides a '03 F650GS that has been
lowered 1".
On most BMWs her feet dangle about 2-3" from the ground.
She has a 28" inseam. She also would have a tough time dealing with a really heavy bike.
She loves the 650, but is envious of taller windshields and fairings.
We see that Parabellum offers a taller W/S, but we don't know anyone who has used one.
Does anyone know about any after market fairings or wind deflectors that
are made for her bike?
Our other thought is to look at a K75. that has been/can be lowered.
We would appreciate your thoughts, information and ideas!
Thanks,

I don't know about any available fairings or wind deflectors, other than the hand guards and they work. Regarding windshields, I have the stock shield, a Dakar shield, a Cee Bailey's, and a Parabellum. Hands down, the Parabellum wins out for total protection. Previously, I used it exclusively in the cold weather, but after riding for the past 2 months with the Cee Baileys, I put the Parabellum back on yesterday. I was getting beaten to death by the wind on the arms and shoulders and head. After a while, this can really tire you. Some say the Parabellum is too ugly. I thought that too at first, but now I don't think it is actually that bad looking, and I'm looking for function over form when I ride. I look pretty enough; I don't worry about the bike looking pretty! Just threw that in for laughs! Parabellum comes out of Georgia and they are nice folks to work with. They can help you with sizing on the phone. Good luck and hope this helps. By the way, if you do find any available fairings, I'd like to hear more about them. I have a 2006 F650GS (Red).

I just purchased a Wunderlich for my 650GS. It has been hands down the best shield I have ever bought. I have to add it is the most expensive.

We're looking into a w/s...maybe the parabellum. I'm concerned about the mount.
It attaches to the hand guard mounts, which seem barely husky enough to
handle the hand guards, much less a large w/s, but Parabellum does have a great rep and if they say it works, I will believe them.
We're now looking for some large wing style wind deflectors.
Any one have any ideas as to where we should look?
Thanks,

I have a c bailey 18 inch windshield. Have put 28,000 miles on the bike with it and it has really cut down on neck pain and windfactor. The wobble in the handling seems to have decreased too. My bike is lowered also if that is a factor. I'm 5'2 and can see over the top of the shield also.

Luann, do you have any clearance problems with the windshield and the mirrors? I a;so have the 18" Cee Bailey. I dropped my F650 early in the summer. The mirrors do not clear the windshield when the handlebars are turned to the extreme right or left. Ended up snapping the windshield and ordering a new one.
After talking to a rep from Cee Bailey at the ralley, he thought it was a design flaw.

They are available. I just ordered one yesterday. I'll report back once I have it installed. I hope it works as good as it looks.

I picked up my Ztechnic windshield last night on the way home. I didn't get to install it since it was dark and raining. A garage would be nice :( .
It looks really nice. I hope it doesn't hit my handguards. I hope I can get it on tonight.

Well, I finally got the Ztechnic windshield installed and got to test it out. At full lock, the mirrors do hit the winshield just barely. With the ignition locked the mirror does not touch. With the stock shield the wind used to hit me just above the faceshield (I'm 5'-10.5" & have a low seat on the Dakar). The air is definitely smoother around the helmet now but unfortunately it doesn't seem any quieter. If I crouch down just a little it makes it much quieter. I wish it was an inch taller. I've been planning to get a standard height seat to help my knees a little. I wonder how the combination will work :dunno .
FWIW-It does seem like there is less turbulence when driving behind a large vehicle.
