Newark NJ to Denver CO. I'l be taking I70 all the way after central PA. Eating better is how I hope to break up slab days in the future. Something close to the freeway that's not a fast food place. Maybe a diner in a small town that's 5-20 miles from an off ramp.

For great coffee along I-70 in the Columbus, OH areas try the Tim Horton's. They are a coffee/sandwhich/soups/doughnut/pastry shop with the most awesome coffee. Usually next to a Wendy's. Even though it is a chain of sorts they are unusual in the sense that they are not everywhere in the US by any means. Now in Canada they are on every corner it seems...must be a lot of poilce to feed or something over there....lol.
You know too...if you have a GPS try using the food & drink feature, that is a really handy feature that I use quite frequently as I am often in strange towns (like my hometown and I don't know where anything is...lol).
Also the book "Let's Go USA" used to have everything about towns in it. My wife and I used to buy that before long trips and as it was written in large part by students, it was clear about the out of the way restaurants that were of excellent value and quality.
As for including this in the Anon book I do not believe this to be a worthwhile use of time or resource. We cannot agree on oil types, spark plugs or camping arrangements...what makes anyone think that the highly subjective topic of food will yield anymore agreement. There are loads of books out there better qualified than BMW-MOA to advise on food...I say use our resources to produce that CD/DVD with the Bench Wrenching tips etc. Now that would be useful.
About 10-12 years ago I was driving through Missouri on I-70 and found a great BBQ place in the middle of the state. It wasn't directly off the slab, maybe 2 miles south of the interstate. I remember that it was great food and the sign that pointed us there simply said "BBQ".
Simplicity in advertising.

Great idea! I'll follow the directions that appear on Billboards or the little signs at exit ramps. I'll only go to places I haven't heard of. (Except Dunkin Donuts and Waffle House of course). Looks like I'll be wearing the rain gear for a bit tomorrow. Couldn't have planned it better.

Newark NJ to Denver CO.
Oh, you mean Newerk as opposed to NewArk. (Those of us in Newark, DE are particular about the pronounciation. ;)
