OK, we had some fun with this on another forum I'm on and I thought it might be appropriate here.
It's starting to be winter, so garages take on new importance.
What's yours look like? Break out the digital camera and lets see what you have.
Winners get nothing beyond the satisfaction of knowing that we all envy them.

This is as close as anyone is getting to seeing inside our garage.
As you can see, there is a garage like structure in the background. For security reasons, no BMW MOA folks will be allowed to look inside.
Actually it was recently cleaned but I am too lazy to go take a picture of it.

Its my 83 HD FLHS.It tossed a couple of teeth on the drive belt earlier this summer. On the go back together side now. Will finish that project this winter. A 30 or 31 Model T Roadster. Was my fathers. He did the rebuild on it,fiberglass fenders, all new woodwork. Nice running machine. He passed away 4 years ago and I drive it a few times a year on warm nights.

Well, I am definitely in the category of not being too proud of the disorganization of my garage, but from these views you can get the picture. It's big.
I have a two car heated garage off my workshop too so this one (a detached five car) is really just for storage.
The outside:
http://www.oldgmctrucks.com/photos/bikes/garage_outside.jpg
The bike side:
http://www.oldgmctrucks.com/photos/bikes/garage_bikeside.jpg
And a little wider view of some of the inside (with two antique trucks out of the way):
http://www.oldgmctrucks.com/photos/bikes/garage_inside.jpg
These pictures are older and the garage is rearranged quite a bit. Having a truss roof with a 36X36 interior with no posts makes things pretty roomy. But as the old expression goes; "Nature abhors a vacuum"
I tried this once, I hope it doesn't come through twice..... This is what I added on to my two stall garage a couple of years ago. Life is definitely good!

Well I suppose I will wade in here. Most of these photos are a couple years old, I haven't gone out to take any up to date ones. My garage is 24'x32', radiant floor heated, has an attic for storage and has a seperate unheated portion for the garden tools with its own entry. There is a partitioned area at the front where I have all the heating equipment, hot water tank, air compressor, sink and storage cabinets.
Here is My 1994 R1100RS.
http://www.telusplanet.net/public/millerea/images/Mirrors_03.jpg
And my wife Kristi's 2002 Triumph Bonneville on its first day home, and her old Honda CM400E and her car too. (my truck has to sit outside.:cry )
http://www.telusplanet.net/public/millerea/images/Bonneville.jpg
And when I'm not riding or fixing the bikes, I set up the woodworking shop. This is part of the reason my truck stays outside. I chose to use my half for tools.
http://www.telusplanet.net/public/millerea/images/My_Pictures0008.jpg
Its a lot more cluttered now than when I took this shot. I've added some more equipment and lots more junk too.

Ok, I wanna play too!
I used to have a 20' shipping container for my garage. Here is what it looked like.
http://RPB.smugmug.com/photos/1110676-S.jpg
Let's take a look inside.
http://RPB.smugmug.com/photos/1109766-M.jpg
Then one day (this was in a boat yard where we had our office) someone came and picked up the WRONG container!
This is what my garage looked like when we opened the door.
http://RPB.smugmug.com/photos/1110611-M.jpg
If you look closely you can just see a spoked wheel and a jug just to the lower left of the KLT pannier. This was a pristine one owner (before myself) 1957 R69 with 18,000 original miles. In addition to the K bike I had a 98 RS in there too. The total claim just touched 14k.
Four years later my wife and I built a house (Ok we didn't actually build it but you know what I mean). The gag was Julie is building a house, Rob is building a garage and the marriage counselor is joining them with a mudroom.
We moved in late May so the finish project (benches, lift, epoxy floor) will be done over the winter.
Here is a shot of the new space:
http://RPB.smugmug.com/photos/1109768-M.jpg
And another:
http://RPB.smugmug.com/photos/1109769-M.jpg
This is the first time I have lived in a house with a garage (since my mis-spent youth) and golly gee whiz do I LOVE having a garage.
Best,

Yes sir, I plan on a big bench built along the west wall. If you look closely you will see electrical outlets down this wall above bench height. I also have the compressor and plumbing along this wall as well as the sink.
No building until the floor is done, there is already enough stuff to move.
What will really get ya is that I am seriously considering using some of the same coatings we use on the tankers for the floor. On a few of our ships the engine room floor (under metal grating) is coated with epoxy in safety yellow. It is amazing how much lighter it makes the space and while not important in this application, if you have even the slightest drip, leak etc it is very easy to spot. Clean up is a snap too.

Nice, huh?
We live in the country (sort-of) in the hills below Yosemite. The light stays on 24 hrs. and the garage stays open. Bugs love it.
You can see from the link in my previous post, that most of the tools on the board are of the one-time use variety. At least one time before the spiders and then the dust claim them.
Seriously, the garage is usually tidy. Too many projects and too slovenly a homeowner make for the ****-hole you see here. 8^)
I'll post another page after a whole weekend's clean-up. Sometime in 2004.

We sold the little Honda soon after the Bonnie arrived. I had considered keeping it as a city bike instead of always riding my R1100RS, but I have too little space for two bikes.

WHat the heck do you need a garage for in Texas?? We gots to have them up here what with the torrential rain, freezing rain, sleet, snow, ice storms and other pleasant weather.
I lived in an apartment for awhile and kept my Honda 750 out in a carport. Felt bad for her being out there all winter. Had to get counseling to get over the guilt.
When we looked at this house 5 years ago I knew the strange addition to the garage would make a good home for our bikes.

A door is on the left through the main garage for the upper level.
The lower level has a garage door off the patio.
During the riding season I keep the green machine in the shed so I can have a little work area.

Well, I finally got around to bringing the camera out to the garage:
http://darryl.crafty-fox.com/mcpics/2003/PC083141med.jpg
Pay no attention to the tankbag in the foreground, that's just Duner's K12RS that I'm storing until he can't stand the weather in Montana any longer and has to come out here to go riding. I'm guessing that will be about middle January.
The three black bikes in the middle are a 1953 R51/3, a 1961 R60/2, and a 1941 R12 (up on the lift with its forks apart and the fender and front wheel on the ground in front of it)
To the right, blocked by the post, is a 2002 R1150RS and you can just kinda see the front fender and wheel of a 1975 R90S.
As you may note, I'm not the neatest, most organized guy around. I try not to have more than a couple projects going on at once on the workbench and tool cart to the left.
In the gap between the tankbag and the R51/3 is my newest acquisition, a slightly used Handy Air Lift. It's fabulous, and though I just brought it home last Thursday, I've already had two bikes up on it.

Naw, don't do that! Come over here and help me figure out what to do with the R12's forks. It needs some unobtanium little springs and something to replace the leather seals that seem to have worn out after only 60+ years. Maybe some advice on the clackety motor, too...

1/4 by 3/4 strips of redwood cut from 20 foot pickle barrel staves, hand fitted and idividually glued. This project got us through a really cold winter. Put a little too much rocker so she's a little tough to keep on a straight line but handles like a GS on the rivers. Great fun in the curves!
