Yes, many times. The late Fred Tauch (sp) had around half a million in his. Paul Glaves' "Old Smokey" was destroyed by a cage with over 350k miles. A friend here in El Paso (now 93 years old) had an '83 R80RT which he sold with, I think, 247k miles. (NOTE: It is 8/19/06. I just visited Tommy and he said he had ONLY 237k on the bike when he sold it in '99.) As long as you keep up with the maintenance and fix what goes wrong, they can last a L-O-O-O-O-N-G time.

My former neighbor had a 75/5 with well over 200K, and his bottom end had never been opened up, either. I think it got a full valve job at around 220K.

That is absolutely fantastic and should give you many years and miles of faithful service. I think the key to all this that our bikes like to be ridden, sitting in a garage does not do our bikes any justice, plus it gives all the "rubber" an opportunity to dry out. Routine maintenance is the key.
I read a couple of years ago that the average Airhead has been 50K and 100K. I am hoping that I will be there one day. I just keep riding every day and the miles will come.
Congratulations and enjoy!!!!

It's nice to know I'm average, my 76 R90/6 just hit 85,000 miles on the way into work today. My previous R90 had 298,000 on it when it was killed by an SUV.

Regards, Rod.

As mentioned earlier, Fred Tausch had around 630,000 on his R60/5 when he stopped riding it.

A little chat with Fred and some info on his bike can be found here:
