Just installed two Hellia 1100 fog lamps on my 60/7 BMW. Everything worked great. The H-3 bulbs put out a lot of illumination. After no more than 3 hours of use both bulbs blew out (at different times). There were no shorts. All other lights on bike (headlight, signals, stop....etc.) have worked and continue to work just fine for over a year. Has anyone had this problem with these fog lights?
thanks, bill

Back in June, I solved a recurring blown light problem when I discovered that the voltage regulator was not regulating.

When bulbs blow for no apparent reason, I start looking at the ground paths as well as the "hot" connections. A slightly loose or corroded connection can cause a momentary arc that zaps the filament.
Frankly, I'm amazed that the R60 wiring can handle the extra wattage, even if wired through relays.
