Hi All,

I am stuck at work right now....my 02 1150RT won't start. It is cranking over fine but not firing. Right now it is sitting on the center stand with the kickstand up and in neutral. It is acting like the kickstand is still down.

Does anybody know of a way to disable the kickstand kill switch?

I would perfer to ride it the 50 miles to my dealer as opposed to paying for a tow and somehow finding a ride home.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ted

I believe that all you need to do is unplug it and jumper the wires together on the harness plug.

If you take a very fine piece of telco wire, you can jumper across the connector pins, and then re-plug the connector.

Thanks for the responses.

Turns out it isn't the kickstand switch . Don't know what it is. Having the bike flat bedded to my dealer in the morning.

Thanks again.

Well, I had same thing happen to me this am on my 1150GS. It cranked over just fine, but never fired. After eliminating electrical, I started searching for a kinked fuel line (no wet plug). I soon discovered that the quick-disconnector on the tank to the injector had separated. Problem solved.
This is my first post. I just joined tonight.

I have a 95 GS and find occasionally that it is dead (as though kill switch is flipped or kickstand is down) when I go to start it. This happened rarely. I pull the clutch level in and it starts. Don't know why.
