I rode my '78 BMW R100/7 in '78 to National Rally in Vermont that year; Again this year to Vermont/ SAME bike! Yep, 28 years later I made it again and proud of the old bike. 9500 miles this time! Central CA, Oregon, Washington, B.C.,Canada, Saskatchawan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Bay of Fundy in FOG, Maine, New Hamshire, Massacheusetts, Rhode Island, Mass.again, Vermont for Rally, New York, New jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, Neveda, and home to California and Clovis! Tada..........One breakdown around Timmons, Ontario for alternator failure; fixed in two hours by me with some friendly help from fishing resort mgr. and his wire. My rings, etc must have been getting tired, because I used about 10 quarts of oil(added en route the entire loop), but compression was very good and the bike ran very well. About a half quart a day, I think! Maybe the valve guides, too? 26 states, provinces, etc....Great ride..........290000 on the clock now for the old bike :). Polarbear, Randy13233 :) :drink
