R12RT 12,000 mile service ??

Getting close to my 12,000 mile service . I plan to do as much as I can . Oil and Filter , valves / TB { first time for me } . Should the clutch and brake fluids be changed ? I think I saw something here about BMW extending this period for the C/B service ? These will be done by the dealer if nesscary .

The service schedule should be printed in your manuals. You have mileage-based requirements and time-based ones.

My BMW dealer in NJ recommends changing Brake and Clutch fluids annually. They say that is the factory recommendation which I did validate.

On my bike the clutch interval is two years IIRC.

The new bikes with the Stahlflex lines have extended brake service. The brakes are 2 years for the wheel circuits and 4 years for the integral control circuit (except the metering, and integral ports do not have to be bled unless the ABS modulator is changed out). The rubber hose systems are still 1 year for the wheel circuits and now 4 years for the Integral control circuit. Non ABS systems are 2 years for Stahlflex and 1 year for rubber.
