Windshield Question RT

Can someone tell me the difference between the 2004 1150RT windshields and the previous year windshields? My recently purchased 04 had a taller windshield, which it was suggested to me came standard in 04. I have also been told that the only difference in 04 was the bolt pattern, such that earlier RT windshields will not fit 04, but I'm not sure this is correct. Thanks.

The R1100RT and pre-04 R1150RT windshields will all fit on the 2004 RT. The 1100RT had a third mounting hole on each side. Not there on the 1150s, but it doesn't matter. You can mount a 1100RT windshield on any R1150RT.

BMW offers a tall windshield as well as the stock one. Apparently your bike has the tall version.
