To and from the rally, I put on about 4,500 miles and the bike ran like a top, starting every time on the first push of the starter. When I got home, I parked it for two weeks in the garage on the side stand with a full tank of gas and the battery tender plugged to the bike. At one point, I did a thorough wash to clean the mud and grit accumulated from the trip.

Went to start it this morning and it took many, many tries before it started. Why? Parked on side stand for too long, or could it be the gas went bad in two weeks or would a thorough wash dampen it spirits? it shouldn't need an oil change for another 1,500 miles or so.

I ran several errands and it started every time at each location. So any suggestions why she was very relunctant to leave home this morning?

Gas will last for a year or so before serious degradation occurrs
so thats not it. Did you run it after washing it? If so how long?

The only other thing I can think of is a dirty fuel injector
that leaked gas down into the intake, flooding the motor.

Any smoke on startup?

best,

I didn't start it after washing it. Today was the first time in 2 weeks that I fired it up. Sat on it while starting it and didn't look behind once it was started to look for smoke.

Went for another ride this afternoon and it start on the first push and ran much smoother than this morning. Did she feel neglected?
