Now that I've got your full attention....
I've lost the small rubber dampers that cushion the windscreen mechanism when it is in the 'down' position.
It is about 1/4" wide by 1/8" thick rubber.
I'm not sure how I lost them, perhaps whilst cleaning the bike.
The problem is that the windscreen 'rattles' going over bumps without the two small rubber dampers.
My other problem is that the dealer cannot seem to locate the part number for this part. I'm hoping I won't have to change the entire windscreen assembly.....
Any ideas what the part number is or another inexpensive solution?
Thanx for your help.

Have him look up 46 63 7 681 432 and see if those are the missing parts.

Thank you, Anton.
I will forward this info to the dealer as soon as they open later this AM.

BMW dealer confirmed that the above part number was exact.
$8.49 (plus taxes@15%) EACH rubber damper.
Now THAT'S a markup!

So if I wanted to get some, it would be $15.00 CDN (or so it would seem - CDN prices seem to be double the US price) plus the good old Gouge and Screw Tax (GST - down to 6% from 7 but still ...)
I figure the things probably have to come from Germany so it is likely 50 cents for the actual part, $2.00 for the shipping, and $5.99 for customs charges and such. :stick

I've given up trying to understand Canadian costs and taxes, but I still can't figure out why a dealership (presumably having trained parts people) couldn't find that part. It was right where I expected it to be, and took about a minute to find.

I think I've found a good cottage industry here.
Shoot, @ $8.50 apiece- someone should be able to manufacture some aftermarket alternatives.

Me too. As frustrating as it is to knowingly be paying more for the same thing as my Americian brethern, I need the part, I pay the price.
The inability for trained parts people to not be able to find that part is not unique and I believe that it may stem from not knowing what BMW calls the part. I know it as that rubber thingy of which there are 4 that support the windshield. I'm sure that is not how it is registered in the parts manual.
I had the same problem getting replacement mirror glass for my RT. It took the parts person half an hour to find it. I have recorded said part number in a spreadsheet. The next time I need that part, I only need to spend 5 minutes on the phone ordering the part rather than 1/2 an hour. And I will do that for every part I need as I find out the part numbers.
