Help appreciated;....
My 1998 R1100GS front brake got spongy, The ABS wouldn`t initialize. So, I power bled the system, even under the seat. Still spongy, Brake lever comes almost to the hand grip. Now, I know that I have a weak battery and I`m getting one, but the front brake is still spongy. I noticed that when I power bled the front, that the fluid didn`t squirt out, it just kind of slowly rose into the clear bleeder tube. The same at the ABS unit.
Really, shouldn`t the fluid keep on coming out when you crack the bleeder with pressure on the pwr bldr? Could this be a rotten hose or bad mastercylinder? Does it matter if the switch is on or not when you bleed? I tried it both ways, Am I missing something here? :banghead

you may have a combination of air in your line, plus crud in the master cylinder piston, both preventing pressure down the line to force out the fluid. You'll have to service the cylinder itself if that's the case. That's all i can think of.
