Finally got my R100RT back together. The heads were done by Memphis Motor Werks and they are NICE. They really did a great job. I now know the difference between the gentle rustle (As one guy put it.) of valves as opposed to the clatter of gravel on a tin shack that I had before. It was worth every penny. :dance Highly recommended.
While I was in there, I replaced all gaskets and o rings, offset the rings and decoked the pistons. A carb rebuild and new cables topped it off. Easier than I thought and not terribly expensive.
I rode it about 180 miles yesterday. More power, better response, less vibration and just all around a better ride. I'm sure this will change, but mileage went from 39 to 47. If that holds, the cost of this will be paid for in fuel savings in about a year, given the distance of my commute.
