Sometime within the last two years, either in the BMW Owners News, or in the Airhead's AirMail, someone contributed a fairly comprehensive version of their own airhead periodic mantenance schedule. I can't remember whether it was mileage based or time based or a combinattion of both. Is anyone familiar with the article and could direct me to which issue it was in?
It was in the Airmail, I think by Snowbum. I don't remember the exact issue. Some items are done at mileage intervals, some at time intervals. The time intervals are especially important if you don't do as many miles in a given year.

I believe both the Clymer and Haines manuals have a chart with the maintenance schedules in them.

Do that stuff long enough and you'll figure out your own best schedule, based on how much riding you do, what kind of riding, your climate, etc.

There is one, and only one, free issue of the Airmail on the web. That's the monthly newsletter of the Airheads Beemers Club, a BMWMOA chartered club for owners of air-cooled BMW motorcycles.
As luck would have it, that one issue is the one with the Simplified Maintenance Schedule. It was written by the editor of the newsletter, B. Jan.
But beware -- this issue is not for the faint of heart! The cover features a photo of Matt Parkhouse, apparently in his birthday suit! Of more interest may be the bathing beauties at the Saipan tech day on page three. (Not all issues are this risque.)
The maintenance schedule you are looking for is on page ten. Here's the web site:

This web page is a pdf so you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader (a free program available on the internet) to view this.

Thanks for your help. This is exactly the article I was looking for. I belong to the Airheads and somehow managed to misplace the exact issue I needed.
