I think my 9 year old wants one too.....The bike is everything that I expected. The real test will come when I can get the bike over 4000 RPM. The seating position is about like my VFR was. Agressive but comfortable. I have a little work to do on the Ohlins, get the set up right.

If that's a picture of you on the bike, you may want to get some thick soled shoes, it looks like your feet wont touch the ground!

Great looking bike!

did I mention it's a tall bike. I am 6'1"............Actually I can't get the boy off the bike. I think a Honda 125 is in his future

Welcome aboard, Brent!

I still miss my 99 and think the new S is super neato.

Hey Brent, welcome to the fold. Beautiful bike.

If you're thinking about a 125 for your son, are you thinking CR125? If so, and you haven't checked out MX bikes lately, you might want to look at the CR80. These two-strokes are *serious* motorcycles and even the 80s make world-class power and feature premium suspension.

Now, if you're talking 4-strokes, Honda no longer makes the 125, but does have a *very* nice CRF150. Really sweet bike.

And of course, you're going to need to get ya a dirt bike yourself. ;)

Unfortunately, there are precious few small street-legal bikes available any more... but the Chinese are rapidly filling that niche.

Welcome Brent, and enjoy your new S. I demo'd one a few months ago, and enjoyed it more than any other bike I've ever been on.

Hey there 92 Bearkat, I myself have just purchased a R1200S and it looks just like your bike. My bike was made March 2006 acording to the stamp on the inside of the faring. I have really been ejoying the thrust and agility this bike has to offer, it really is amazing isn't it!
Ride Safe and welcome!!!

Tip for you on this bike, and this is only my opinion ok;(others may disagree)

Ride it like you stole it on the break in. Warm the engine up first and then go like heck. This will seat the rings quicker and more uniform. After it stops burning/using oil switch to a FULL synthetic, like Mobil one motorcycle oil 20W50. It will run smoothly and perform like a dream!

I have been religious not to go over 4000 RPS's....But I have heard the same thing that you have said. It had 210 miles on the bike when I got it. One of the salesmen had riden the bike a few times, so I am sure the bike has seen the top side of 4000.

Mine was stamped March as well.

My dealer insisted that I keep the RPMs between 4k and 6k during the breakin, and never to lug the bike below 3k. Glad the break in period is over. This bike is sooo much fun. This is my 4th boxer, I love everything about it. The power is incredible. Open the throttle at 50 mph and the front tire comes off the ground. It is perfect for the mountain roads by my house in the Sierra's outside of Fresno. It is so agile, I rode with a K12S and K12RS and they could not stay with it in the twisties.

BTW mine is yellow too. I looked at the black and red/silver bikes, but found the yellow to my liking.

I agree with the power...I had a R850R a few yrs back. So I knew a little about the boxer engine. This bike can flat out move, I need to get the 600 miles in so I can break the throttle open. I am staying between 3 and 6, so I am good.
