OK, all you airhead gurus. I'm considering a project & would like to hear just how nutty you think I'm getting.

I have a 98 F650 right now & just don't feel like I'm big enough to ride an 1150GS in the places I know I'd take it!

My thought is to locate a pre-paralever r80 or r100 & see what it would take in $$ and parts to make a dirt road to jeep trail capable "G/S".

Feel free, any thoughts pro or con.

Thanks,

Why not just buy an R80 or R100GS?

Eric,
This came up not too long ago from another guy wanting to make a home-built off-roader. Britton Purser, who writes for the MOA mag built his "frankenbike". You might email him at
wanderlustmoto@hotmail.com for some idea of costs/needs/modifications....

Just put some DP (or DoT approved dirt) tires on any old airhead and you're most of the way there. A high fender in the front and you're done.
