Aw, thanks!
I'm actually 45 now. Tina and I went to Morro Bay and camped this weekend. It was pretty fun. We took a tour of Hearst Castle in San Simeon. If you've never been, you should go. I'll hang some pictures up on smugmug and give you all something to think about for a visit. It's absolutely spectacular.
We took the car, though......

Hearst Castle is a pretty neat place.
As the bus takes you up the road to the
castle, they tell you of the various animals
that were brought for WRH's enjoyment. I
often wonder what that must have been
like to see them wandering around.
Do you remember which tour you took?

We took tour 1. It includes the Casa del Sol, which surveyed the coast, the grounds, including the Neptune pool, the Casa Grande, the theater and the indoor pool. It also included the IMAX movie about the construction of the site. All in all, it was $18 well spent. We were there for about 4 hours, with active participation by the museum the whole time. We had two docents that herded us around and the talks were quite interesting and informative.
I asked one of the docents, who was riding tail gunner on the group, if she ever had an opportunity to walk around the location without tourists. We were off by ourselves and she looked around a little before she answered.
Big grin, almost guilty, just above a whisper: "Yes, it's magnificent!"
I'd really like to go back and take the other tours. I believe there a total of four available, including one that contrasts one of the guest houses and the structures the workers stayed in.

There are a couple of "special" tours. After hours or something.
That'd be fun too.
I'd like to go on the tour that covers the wine cellar.
Hmmm...
