I am leaving from the shore on Wednesday morning at 0500 or 0530. Running out the GSP just to get out of Jersey. Then I am hooking up with my Dad and Sister around Ft. Montgomery for breakfast. From there we will run 9W to Poughkeepsie then cut over on 44 to Amenia to pick up 22. Taking 22 all the way to Bennington VT area then probably gonna pick our way towards 100 and run 100 the rest of the way.
PM me if you want to join us.

Hey Bruce. You've got the right idea. 9W is a great ride all the way to RT 44, where you can cross the Hudson at Poughkeepsie and continue NE right over the NY-CT border to RT 7 (at N. Canaan). 44 is one of my favorite rides (Gotta stop at the Millbrook Diner on Franklin Ave in Millbrook, NY—awesome Burgers!)
Take 7 North, right into MA, through the Berkshires. until you grab RT 9 East at Bennington, VT, which will hook you up with RT 100 at Wilmington.
Very scenic although a little congested passing through Newburgh and Poughkeepsie, NY and Great Barrington and Pittsfield, MA.
Enjoy the trip up and see ya at the Forum Frenzy in the Beer Garden Friday night! :thumb

Much the same route - but taking it tomorrow. Will be overnighting in Bennington (at a motel with a pool, which we'll be making good use of I'm sure..)
A suggestion to avoid Poughkeepsie traffic.. Take 9W up to I-84, take I-84 to the Taconic, north about 12 miles on the Taconic to Rt 44 then east to Rt 22. It avoids having to deal with the Poughkeepsie traffic.

We are 6 riders....going to jump over at Bear Mountain. Then make our way to the Taconic and get North. Hang a right on 40 and make our way to 22 North. Ride that all the way up to 30...looks like nice weather, can't wait
