Question: Just plugged a nail hole in the rear tire on my R1200ST (5500 mi on tires). It was plugged correctly and holding air. Of course I will get new tires. Dare I ride the 75 miles to the nearest bmw dealer - or should I trailer there? Thanks for your input.

I'd ride it.
I have ridden farther when on trips with a plug to get a new tire.
Ride it.

I've known people to ride with a plugged tire until they replaced it because of tread depth..
Ride it in..

Definitely ride it. I wouldn't ride over 50 mph if it was me. definitely no 70 plus highway speeds. I'm conservative in nature when it comes to things like this so some people may disagree with me, depends on your risk taking quotient. If you are extremely nervous about it use the trailer. Peace of mind is important. i also know people who plug it and keep on going. I would have done that when I was 24 and making $5.00 an hour. Not now at 56 and considerably more an hour. I also think a lot more about going down at higher speeds and I'm just not that interested. I had a nail about two months ago doing about 80 when I noticed the front end wobble in turns. Glad I didn't have a catastrophic failure. Don't want to experience that. Good luck and ride safe!

Thanks for the information - will ride the back way (slower) to Denver for tire change. Lee

Why not take the wheel off and drive to the BMW shop?
