Where is the starter relay? K75

I know it's under the tank, somewhere I saw a diagram that identified the components of the box under the tank, any body remember if, it was in a recent issue of ON or on line?

Why? Because my trusty stead stranded me at work tonight.

Duh.... Look in your Haynes manual. But wasn't there a diagram posted or printed someplace.

Under the tank in the electrics box. Right hand side in the rear. Color is black. There's two 8mm bolts with each one having a wire attached to them.

Could be. Do you have a headlight when you turn the key on? If not, then it may be the starter motor brushes.

Tell us what you mean by stranded you. Do you hear a click from under the tank when you press the start button? It your headlight off even though you have the key on. This is BEFORE you press the start button. I'm not asking to determine the condition of your battery, I'm asking to determine the condition of your starter brushes. Believe it or not the starter brushes will make your headlight go out and at the same time keep your bike from starting. If your headlight it not on pull your starter and clean the inside of it. While it's apart you may want to replace the brushes if they are short.

If you've got a voltmeter it would be easy just to put the voltmeter lead on the starter to see if you have voltage when pressing the start button. Let us know what's going on.

Battery has plenty of juice. Bike as 70+K on the clock.
Sadly the bike is 30 miles from home but only one mile from a dealer that was unable to provide any help as all of their service techs checked out early or were unwilling to offer any suggestions save the parts manager that sugested the starter relay.
Heading back into town this morning to see if dealer will be a little more helpful.

That's the starter brushes. I was able to bump my K100RS while in gear and when I did that, I managed to get home with it (the starter turns a little if you bump the engine backwards) so I could clean the starter brush area...you may need new ones. Not a big deal. The hot brush usually is the one that goes...part number 12 41 1 459 567.

Thanks, I pulled the starter motor from my other K75 and will head in to replace it.
Got to work, put the bike in gear, rolled it back twice, pushed the starter, YES it's running. Wish I'd known that trick last night.
When I went to roll the bike out I set off the alarm. I work in a secure location, oops.
Now I'm home, got to put the starter motor back in the other bike then go swimming.
