So, I'm in the garage checking the valve clearance on my '03 1150 RT before heading to VT, when this yellow note falls out of my Clymer manual.
It says "CORRECTION" and goes on to state that the valve clearances stated in the manual are incorrect, and that they should be .15 mm intake, and .30 mm for exhaust. (The spec's inside the book's tuneup section state a range, which I don't recall at the present).
Since I have relied on and used this huge book for a couple of years, this came as a 'WTF moment.' Since the valve clearance spec's are not in my bike's owner's manual, I need a final answer. Is the .15 and .30 the real deal or what? I have wasted a ton of time looking for past posts here at MOA and nothing.
This, by the way, is the same Clymer manual that tells me I need to completely remove the fuel tank to remove the battery. Nice.
