My route is planned by and large from Harrisburg PA to Port Jervis NY, and from Wilmington VT to Essex Junction VT.

Please share your knowledge on route(s) between Port Jervis and Wilmington.

Thanks much!

97 is nice. it runs along the delaware and you can pick it up at port jervis. it'll take you a little west i think but will set you up so you can hit the catskills. i'm not sure exactly which roads would work best to get you to wilmington but for the most part, you can't go wrong in that area. take care and see you at the rally. jason

Take 97 north through Hawks Nest. You can pull over along the cliff high above the Delaware River at the overlook. In Barryville, turn right onto route 55. Take all the way to the Catskills, into the very small town of Curry, turn left onto County Route (CR) 19. Look for sign for Frost Valley YMCA. CR 19 becomes CR 157 and eventually CR 47. This will take you up over Big Indian. It’s a very nice twisty road. Cross over route 28 and continue on CR 47. Make a left onto route 42. Left onto route 23A, and left onto route 23. Make a right on CR 7 to go around Schoharie Reservoir, bear left on CR 990V. Take 900V to route 30, and make a right heading north. Route 30 is a nice road, and you can move along pretty quickly on it. Not great from where it crosses the NY Thruway and goes through Amsterdam, but your back in the country pretty quickly. In Vail Mills, right onto CR 155, in Broadalbin, Main Street to North Street which becomes CR 110. CR 110 runs along Great Sacandaga Lake, in Fish House, it becomes CR 7. Stay on CR 7 as it crosses the dam and then bear right on CR 4 towards Hadley. After crossing the Hudson River, falls on your left, left onto Mill St. Great ice cream and food at Poppa’s on the left. Left at the top of the hill onto route 9N into Lake George. Left on route 9 in Lake George. Once you are through the village of Lake George, 9 runs along the lake all the way to Ticonderoga.

At this point, you have several choices to cross Lake Champlain. Just above Fort Ticonderoga is the cable operated ferry. Further up is the bridge at Crown Point into Chimney Point in VT. There is also ferry service in Essex or Port Kent. Port Kent ferry is the longest crossing and will land you in Burlington. Pick any road in VT to the rally, they are all nice.
