I have a 97 K11LT with 56k miles. I was considering Progressive springs and shock but the guy at Progressive said that they only show apps for 93-95. Who can tell me if that will work or not? Are fork boots a BMW part or aftermarket? What else can/should I do to keep my bike fresh and strong? I plan on keeping it for a while. Should I consider another brand of fork springs and/or shock? I really just want it to be safe and reliable. I also pull a Kwik Kamp maybe 1k miles a season. Thanks
For fork boots, I used Rancho shock boots that I picked up at an auto parts store.

Hi,
No matter what the aftermarket parts books say, the K1100LT forks were the same from '93-'97. Fork boots did not come from the factory on any K1100LT's. On my '96, I used the same fork boots used on the /6 and /7 airheads. I used nothing to clamp them; it wasn't necessary. I have a set of Rancho fork boots to mount onto my '95 K1100LT whenever I either take the forks apart or remove the forks from the triple clamp. I added a set of Rancho boots to Harriet's '95 K75RT (before we sold it) and they worked fine - again with no clamps necessary.
