I recently got to test-ride a 94 R100R. Loved it!!! In the not-too-distant future I think I'm going to have to cut my losses on an old K-Bike that's turning into a real money-pit and I'm thinking about replacing it with one of these last-generation Airheads. I've heard good about /7s too (especially pre-81), but the relative newness and superiour brakes of the last-generation models seem to have some real value.
Anybody have any thoughts on this?

I know someone who has a nice R. Ping me off line. The paralever on the last ones was very nice.

Hello; I like that /7 engine, it's totally contemporary. The gearing is just right for alpine tomfoolery. I had to adjust things quite a bit, the biggest improvement was fresh new modern tires.
My particular flavor is 77 R100/7, the previuos owner had it 4 plugged, electronic ignition, the transmission shafts polished for smoother shifting, gas flowed? Anyhow it's real healthy and real fun.

Hello; No I am not a member of any group, I always thought that motorcycleing was a kind of independent pursuit. I don't like riding in a group, but I do it every year in the BMW demo ride.

When I lived back in Ontario, the 60's I belonged to a motorcycle gang that invaded Ingersoll Ontario for four days. I quit that group after getting shot at by local farmers. lots of my good friends got killed that summer.

I live in Lake Cowichan.

Hey Donkey, I've heard of those mods (the guys over at Boxerworks are pretty knowledgeable) and they sure sound good. From what I've heard the gasflowing is what makes the most difference. I've also heard of using thin copper head gaskets to get a little more squish inside. A couple of those Boxerworks guys have or are building real high-performance Airheads.

Hello; Bring it on, Campbell river is about 300 kms from my place I bought a Ducati 450 Desmo there once. You'll love it here, just like New Zealand, without the funny accent.
