I'm so excited! Tomorrow morning at 5AM I'm leaving from Long Beach, CA. I'm taking my R12RT to the Vermont Rally by way of Boston and Nova Scotia. I'll be posting pics of my trip on my web log (linked below.) Maybe I'll see you on the road or in the beer garden!

Wish me luck!

How sweet, my ride cross country in 2004 was like nothing else, everyone should do it. :thumb

If you wish, you may stop by the Ranch in Clovis,CA. My place has room, but only 275 from you, so be safe either way. Which way are ya headed out of CA? I'm off tommorow(Wed.) and may ride out to meet you, if you're coming north, my way. I'll be doing the same trip, soon, behind you(couple weeks more). You're welcome to stop by, if your first day needs to be cut short for any reason! I'm very close to Yosemite and morning riding through the Park is very good exit strategy from CA., into Nevada. I use this route a lot. Happy Trails, Randy 13233 :usa

488 easy miles today. I took the 15 to St. George Utah... then on to Zion. Hot has hell... 113° according to my RT, but the RT took it all in stride. I posted some pics on my web log.

My next stop is Durango, CO, then Keystone, CO. Then I have to superslab to Boston.

Polarbear – Thanks for your kind offer. Hope to see you at the rally.

Bradford... I'm intrigued. What awards? Can you elaborate?

Bradford... I'm intrigued. What awards? Can you elaborate?

Sure. There are two awards for touring on the way to the Rally.

The BMW MOA North American Tour Award is presented for the greatest number of touring miles in one continuous trip beginning no earlier than January 1 and ending at the time of arrival at the rally and without returning to the rider's home. All touring miles MUST be in NORTH AMERICA.

The BMW MOA Grand Tour Award is for the greatest number of touring miles in one continuous trip beginning no earlier than January 1,and ending at the time of arrival at the rally and without returning to the rider's home. Miles for all overland motorcycle travel (no sea or air mileage) ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD are eligible.

Contestants for either of these awards MUST have a trip log and other evidence (gasoline or motel receipts, repair records, etc.) for the trip, showing mileage traveled and identification of locations that define the scope of the journey. Entrants will be asked to write a brief summary of their journey. Please note that the eligible period of touring for both of these awards begins on January 1 and ends at the time of arrival at the rally, and that for determining the final mileage the trip ends when the entrant arrives at the rally. Furthermore, no accommodations can be made for mileage lost due to mechanical or odometer failures

Also it is your responsibility to apply for the award.

PS, I am the Awards and Tally Chairperson and am looking for a few volunteers :)

Bob,

I created my web log using Apple's iWeb. Like all things Apple, iWeb does all the hard stuff. I just click a button, type my blog entry, drag-and-drop my pictures, then hit the "PUBLISH" button. All the formatting you see is based on premade templates.
