No it does not block the instrument panel, the camera angle is the culprit.

Much of the piece was bored and tapered to reduce weight.

The machined flat spot accommodates the GPS cradle. The knurled knob and friction rubber permit easy removal.

The mount was machined on a Sherline lathe and mill.

Nice work there. I just finished working up my 2610 Mount.... pictures are coming...
