I do not know about you but sometimes I have a hard time going on any trip without some drama. To make sure I reduce the drama and make it clear that trips are not some mission to drive my S.O. crazy I made a Free Pass.

I have tried printing and writing motorcycle credos but they do not get to the heart of the issue. :banghead

So I tried this: (feedback welcome and I am sure additions may be requested)

If you need a cool user name, just ask Greg Feeler to hook you up. He can swap it in the admin panel for you.

You could be sort of a reverse secret agent man, you know? They've given me a name and taken away my number.

Let us know how the pass works. My SO says Vermont's too long a trip for her, and she doesn't understand why I want to spend half "our" vacation time on a bike. :dunno I guess she'll get used to the idea. :hide

I just got that one also. I need to add that to the free pass also.

My wife is a teacher and has the summer off and is just now making plans for "us" but I can't be in both places at the same time.

I asked her to fly over to Vermont and she laughed. She wants to go on the ride but can't leave our daughter for that long of a time.

A pre-emptive strike with a signed Free Pass, what a great idea. The signing bonus might be off the charts. I took the cowardly, low life, underhanded, snake in the grass approach and made arrangements for a cottage for the week on the northeast corner of the Adirondack Park. All was fine until I casually noted that coincidently there was a BMW rally just across the state line in VT. This triggered the over the glasses, raised eyebrow, I should have known better than to trust you look. Lord only knows when's the last time I actually got away with something, but I keep trying. At this point she's used to it.

Fanning the flames,

How old is your daughter? My niece went to her first national rally at Rheinbeck when she was 6. I remember her and a couple other little girls walking down the long rows of bikes pointing at the bikes and saying "R bike, K bike, R bike, R bike, F bike, /2". It was great. The kids were having a ball.

They could both fly and meet you there. Both of my brothers are coming with their kids and one doesn't even ride!

I am flying the wife and our 10 mos old daughter to the rally. Grandma is coming on a different flight. We are all going to enjoy the rally together.

That's what I meant...heh. She loves to ride her bike. Loves to mow the lawn. She's not interested in a vacation in the car in over 24 years so far. It's like heaven. And she even had her own toolbox when we met...full of Craftsman tools. She does keep accusing me of stealing her wrenches though. And I can have anything I want as long as I get two of them.

My son had just turned 4 when I took him to his first rally. And he loved it. Went to another earlier this year with me, turns 6 later this year.

Figure out a way to make the fambly thing work, it's worth it.

.....Some guests have mentioned the Resort has pretty good kids programs which allow dad and mom to ski and play , in the summer the kids program is supposedly more robust....
