It would be great to get an idea of who all on the forum is planning on making the Peaks Of America Tour. If you are, don't forget to get registered for the 'RA Rally in Boise and the Top 'O The Rockies in Paonia - not to mention the 'MOA Burlington rally!! http://www.bmwmoa.org/rally/rally06/poa.htm
There will be a limited number (200) of individually numbered pins available for those completing the Tour (shown below). There will also be a limited supply of beautiful commemorative t-shirts available to anyone with $$ at both the 'RA Rally and the 'MOA Rally. However, to get the pin you have to go the distance. If any folks making the POA would like to have some face time with their fellow POA riders, just let me know here (as in pick a time you'd like) and as Co-Rally Chair I arrange for announcements at the 'RA rally to let folks know. The 'RA Rally schedule will be posted on that web site (www.bmwra.org/rally) in a couple of days - you should check for what seems like a good time.

Sigh. I'm signed up for the RA and MOA rallies, but alas, I'm going to miss -- yet again -- the Top of the Rockies rally. My mom is celebrating her 70th birthday, so I will be in LA that weekend, and then dashing across the entire country to get to Vermont.

I just gotta' ask...Sorry.
Do all those who get to participate in these excursions either...
a.) retired
b.) self employed
c.) have jobs that give them weeks on end of vacation
d.) just plain loaded and "don't need no stinking job"
e.) What job?
I just gotta' know the truth behind those that take these runs...!
'Cause I anwser NO to all the above.
So if anyone wants to stuff me in one of thier panniers and feed me every once and a while, -let me out at the different rallys to stretch...Send money home to the wife to make the mortgage...
Ahhh...To be an (a-e)'er....Naw' I can wait...I'm still liking my thrities!

Kutcher,
You just keep on working - and paying your taxes so I can keep getting my retirement check. In another short thirty years you can do it too. I'll be dead by then, of course.

My work is typicall on shut down for a week or two July which helps a lot. Also there is the idea of teachers that have the summer off.
Plus I get 3+weeks of vacation... there is a plus side to the amount of travel I do for work, my boss is understanding and gives me an extra day or two along the way....

I'm none of the above, but have been in my salt mine long enough to get 4 weeks of vacation per year. Last year I too three weeks to go from Idaho to Lima and back. This year I'm burning a lot of it up running the 'RA Rally in Boise and then going to Burlington to help out there. Unfortunatly, I won't have the time to either go to the Top 'O The Rockies or ride to Vermont. The cobbler's children go barefoot. :(

some deek in a mini-pickup crossed the double-double yellow from the carpool into the #1 lane on the 55 and knocked me down last Tuesday. Then drove off. :mad
I scrubbed off about 30 mph before he hit me, which left ~20 mph for the gear to absorb. Helmet didn't even touch the ground, I rolled so quickly, but my new Bates jacket has a couple of good scuffs to it.
I seem to have slightly dislocated my collarbone from my shoulder, so I'm not going anywhere far this summer. I'll maybe see you all next year at the rally then, wherever it is.

Man, that sux, but I guess we don't have to tell you that. At least you'll heal and ride again. I got knocked of one of the bikes in December and it took several months to get all good again. Just remember that it passes. ;)
