1995 K 1100 LT turn signal problems

been working on a friends bike that cant get turn signals to work, we replaced the bulbs, didnt help, tried looking at the wiring schematic and both decided that k electrics are a little more complicated than airhead electrics. Could someone please point us in the right direction? The problem is a general lack of turn signals. Thanks Greg

The signal control unit is this little thing in the fusebox. Through brilliant design, this $90 item blows whenever a signal gets shorted out but usually only the one circuit will fail. If you have lost both, I'd start with the fuses and then try swapping in a known good signal unit AFTER you have verified that none of the bulbs or sockets are shorted.
