I'm installing a set of PIAA 35 watt lights on my '95 K1100LT and was wondering what location is best for the switch. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Sid in Sarasota

Have you seen the Autoswitch? http://www.autoswitch.com/
You don't need another switch with the autoswitch. It uses your turn signal cancel switch. I have had one on my bike for a few years now. Still working great.

I dont have the autoswitch, just a black on-off pushbutton with a led. It has hook and loop attachment. The choices would be on the handlebar or upper or lower dash area.

I also just have the push-button. It is attached between the handlebars next to the switches for the hazards and heated grips.

I put my switch in the easiest place I could find, without undoing the entire fairing, handlebar panels, etcetc., that is quite a lot of work on a KLT! I put it right under my left butt, by the seat; easily reached without any hassle and about same place as heated seat switch(if I had one). It is mounted in my side panel fairing and very unnoticable to others. Works for me! I did not have to work all under the fairing this way and made the install quite easy in short order. doubling up your piaa switch with an existing handlebar button is easiest, one that doesn't require you to move your hands from your handlebar. i had one put somewhere else (i was being cheap) then came to my senses. at highway speed in weird weather, not having to move your hands off your controls keeps your sense of control in, as they say, hand.
