Fifteen (15) years without a Beemer is long enough!!! Just bought a very clean low mileage (42000) 1990 KLT. Progressive shock on the rear is shot, and the windshield due to age needs replacing, as does the bent side stand. My nearest dealer is 135 miles distant, (I can't afford his prices anyway) and I can find nothing on any of the forums, classifieds nor eBay for this bike.
Will other K bike shocks, windshields, side stands etc., fit this 90 KLT??? I have owned R27,all the slash 2's; the; slash 5,6,7's etc., but begining to think I may have stepped into something here.
Help and/or advice appreciated.

Welcome....you might want to check with these folks about acceptable replacements if others don't chime in...you can also get on the want list for what you are looking for - http://www.beemerboneyard.com/

I appreciate the info, and just finished checking their web site. They had the shock & side stand that I need, but unfortunately both had already been sold. I sent them a "parts wanted".
Thanks again!!

And you can always put a "looking for" wanted ad on the MOA Online Flea Market (http://www.bmwmoa.org/flea/)

Hi, Gadwal,
I've heard Mike is really good people. Unfortunately, he hasn't had what I need when I need it. Of course, his business is named Airhead Salvage and I sold our last airhead in 2000.

Welcome to the List. I've had 7 airheads, from a '76 R90/6 to a '95 R100RT. I saw the light (dark?) back in 1997 when I bought our first k-bike. We've had a total of 5. Welcome to the DARK SIDE!!
