Has anyone here bought a hitch from these guys? If so, how was the service, and the fit of the part? I'm looking into buying one for my R1100RT, but noticed that they only advertised one for the R1150RT. Is there enough difference in the rear frame that it wouldn't work with the 1100RT ? I like the way the unit is supposed to detach easily and leave a clean look when not in use. It looks great on LT, but is there anyone out there with one on an RT?
Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I can't speak about a hitch, but I bought a sidecar subframe for my R1150RT that wasn't listed on their website only listed R1100RT. I made a call and talk to Jay the owner, placed the order and fit was right on. Very nice guy from my experience and very good finish on the product.

Great people to deal with and will go to great lengths to help and give advice.
I bought a sidecar subframe from them and it was a pleasure doing business with them and they made sure I got the right one, packed it and shipped it quickly and very professionally. Give them a call if you have any questions.
I think Jay has a day job and may not be reached until evening. give it a try.

You guys were right, Jay was friendly and gladly answered my questions about hitch, but couldn't advise if there was enough of a difference for it not to work on the R1100RT. He did make clear that it was designed for the 1150RT but that was as far as it went. I like the way the hitch mounts, and am thinking about purchasing one with the hopes of making it work if it only needs minor tweaking. If not, somebody will get a great deal on one for their 1150. Thanks for the information on the company.
If anyone can advise on the rear subframe differences of the two, and any potential issues with getting this hitch to work, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
DJ

I have the KLT version and it works perfectly. I liked the no hitch look, too when not towing. Its the only one I've ever seen this way. I've towed about 15000 miles with it. It went together in little time, too. It came with its own wiring harness for taillight hookup and is clean. I thought it pricey at first, but got my moneys worth after many miles and good performance. Randy13233. PS; I tow about 300lbs, total weight back there.

The hitch will bolt up perfectly on the R1100RT, but with the 18" rear wheel it rubs when ever you hit a bump. In the process now of working with Jay to see what we can do to modify it to work with the R1100RT without swapping out the back wheel. Since he doesn't have the bike in the shop for mockup purposes, there are no gaurantees. Does anyone have a spare 3 spoke that they could send to Dauntless for mock up purposes? In the end I might have to convert to the 17" rear wheel after all. Or trade up to the R1150RT:dance

This is what it looked like on my 1100RT. not a lot of clearance.

After much thought, and talking with people about converting my rear tire to the smaller 17", I decided to just get the 1150RT. It had better brakes, and the rear sub frame though it looks the same, had a little different geometry in the way the hitch bolted up. Now is doesn't bottom out, and I'll have more braking force to stop the trailer.

With the bags on, it's hardly noticeable.

I would highly recommend this style of hitch to anyone looking for one that doesn't stand out when not in use. Also the people at Dauntless were very friendly and even offered for me to return it if it didn't work on my 1100. I liked the way the hitch attached so much I went shopping for the 1150RT.
Thanks for the help everyone,

P.S. tag = rate of decay aE^(kt), it didn't come out like I was hoping for.
