Today I changed a bent rear brake lever. When I started up the bike for a test ride, the "brake failure" light on he dash never stopped blinking fast. The rear tail light worked but the rear brake light did not when pressing down on either the rear brake lever or the front brake lever. The ABS and servo do not come on.
Any ideas how to fix?

I'd start be replacing the Light-bulb. It's probably burnt out and that will cause untold "Trouble-free" signals to the ABS system.

I figured it out last night. It was not the light blub. It was a small leaf spring switch that was not in correct contact with the adjusting bolt on the front of the rear brake lever. See attachment.

this happened to me also. identical problem but with a k1200rs 2003
I changed both tires (dealer did) and two days later I started having the brake faileure light flashing fast (no abs). After 20 yards things seemed to fix themselves.
after reading this forum I noticed that the back brake lever was doing wrong contact with the little leaf spring.
I gave the adjusting bolt some more space and put some w40 on the brake lever spring. voila! problem fix. Now faileure light flashes slowly until tire does a couple of turns.

Maybe, but when there is a problem, they try to point you in the right direction, instead of expecting you to know! :laugh :bolt
