View Full Version : BMW Demo Fleet at National? F800?
I looked at the Rally page and couldn't find a listing of vendors, or whether the BMW Demo Fleet was going to be there. Even more particularly, since the F800's are now on the street in Europe, and supposedly coming here by the end of the year, what do you figure the chance is of having them among the demo fleet?
Thoughts?

I read they will be released in Canada first. Maybe a ride up to Canada is in order.
In some other post I recall the demo fleet will be at the National.

The demo fleet is coming. I have no idea about the F800.

Canada's not very far from Michigan or New York

Sounds like a good road trip.
Thanks.

The F800 release sounds like a question for "Ask Burnszilla!" He seems to find all the gouge in a New York minute.
New York Minute equates to a nanosecond, or that infinitesimal blink of time in New York after the traffic light turns green and before the driver behind you honks his horn. (World Wide Words)

Why not ask BMW what models they will be hawking a the Rally?
Hey Ray Zimmerman, Executive Director of MOA, why not make that call for the membership and help 'foster communication and a sense of family among BMW motorcycle enthusiasts' ?

This may surprise you but the people at BMW don't know today what will be in the truck come July, other than bikes that are already in the country.
Rally Co-Chair Mike Friedle has a meeting in a week or so with the people who handle the truck. I am sure he will find out as much as possible but again, the people he asks may not have a firm answer or one they want published.

Will the BMW Apparel truck be there? I haven't seen it since Charleston, WV in 2003?

The rumor I heard was that the dealers didn't like the BMW truck selling clothing. The truck was taking their sales away form them.

At Daytona, the local dealers would or could send reps to work the truck and all the sales would get credited to the dealers. This I was told by a sales lady from Orlando BMW working in the truck during Bike week a couple of years ago.

Another false rumor. The apparel truck never sold merchandise directly. All sales were credited to the local dealer. the truck was just an opportunity to showcase what neat gear BMW was making available to compliment their motorcycles.
See you in VT. There is a nearby dealer, Frank's BMW in Essex Junction, VT, where you can check out BMW apparel.

I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but I have purchased from and visited Frank's BMW for about 20 years and in the past few years, if you can find any BMW products, they are usually behind their Yamaha and Triumph line, and then you have the joy of having the staff complain about dealing with BMW corporate. Moral of the story....don't get your hopes up with Franks!
