FOUND A PLACE!!!!
ONLY A FEW ROOMS LEFT, 5 MILES TO THE BMW HANGOUT.
Hearing in another thread that most hotels were booked, I decided to look through the list of hotel/motels on the rally site. I noticed that some of the smaller ones were missing. So here are two very motorcycle friendly places. They are your traditional "park in front of your door" motels in a horseshoe shape. Appear to be very clean and only about four miles from the rally site. The Street Rodders stay at them during their annual show and you know how they care for their rods! I called and they don't have any bookings, yet!

Consider the Caravan B&B (http://www.caravanbandb.com) north of Waitsfield, VT on route 100...
The website indicates they have rooms available during the rally!
I DON'T understand how that can be!!!
We missed them a few weekends ago, as they were undergoing improvements.

A person determined to find all you seek might consider Montreal. It is the most european city in North America, the commute to the rally isn't bad, especially if you wander on some of the more rural roads just a mile or two south of the river.

The Gouverneur Hotel, Abri du Voyageur Hotel, Auberge Cosy are centered in an unique area of Montreal. A bite or two at Cafe European or Deelite, a drink at Aigle Noir and explore the lively nightlife of the area......I'm told that one can view some of the latest in fashion from Paris, Milan, San Francisco.

You can find just about anything you might want in this lovely section of the City. And some of the girls you might encounter are especially Hot. oh,la,la. Perhaps you might find all you seek and more.............................................. ..... :brow

play safe..

Not too long ago I secured a room at the T-Bird Motor Inn in Shelburne, VT, just a few miles south of Burlington. It looks like a nice older motel, well kept, and American owned. 800-335-5029, www.tbirdmotorinn.com

We stayed here 6 years ago, family owned and operated. This is where I"m staying, great place in a good location. Highly recommended.

Mark if you come on 81 north you could avoid D.C. Traffic by taking 17 west. Same amount of time according to my cousins coming up from Yorktown. I just came up 81 North from Harrisburg it is open and the only problem is traffic, lots of trucks. But if you slab then you have no choice. If you slab to Vermont I always took 84 to NY 87. Lots of options that way, even if you go into Mass. etc. 81 should be ok because there are riders coming from Tenn. that way. So it will not be long before you have company.

That's what I was planning, especially if I can get out of here a day or two early, so I have time to take some backroads. When I bought my most recent bike last August, my wife and I rode it back from CT down the eastern seaboard - it was brutal - NJ Turnpike traffic, etc.... Uggghhh. Don't want to do that again.

I won't be on a BMW this time, so not sure how much 'company' I'll find!!! :D
