Had a problem today while riding the rockies. The 2-3 upshift started to become very difficult. Usually it just wouldn't click into 3rd, rather just stayed in 2nd. I had to try several times before it would finally click into 3rd. A couple of times it slipped from 2nd into neutral. I tried a roadside fix, with the help of a friendly GS driver who stopped while traveling by. We tried tightening the shifter linkage, thinking it had become a bit loose, and just didn't have enough travel space in the shifter housing to engage 3rd gear. That seemed to help for a while, but soon lapsed back into the same problem.
Any insight, or experience with the same problem?
