What are the differences between the K75C and the other K 75 models?
What was the last year of production for a "C"?
Is there a separate owners group for K75's?
Is there a K75 version that commands a premium in the used market?

I'm not sure what the last production year for the C model was, but they had a big round headlight with a smallish square fairing. The bar bend was, in my opinion, perfect. Burnszilla has one and you can get a good look at his in the anti-fungal ride thread.

I had an 88 in white.

K75C production: From 07/1985 to 03/1990

K75 production: From 07/1990 to 09/1995

The only difference is the K75C has a round headlight with a square fairing the K75 has a round headlight without the fairing.

I think the heirarchy of demand is K75S, K75RT, K75C, and then K75. Opinions obviously may vary based on personal preference. You could check the Kelley Blue Book (http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/ke.kb.my?kbb.CA;874454;CA087&95033;rc;r&) for current values.

My bike is titled as a K75CT (http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/showpost.php?p=120733&postcount=25), no one can seem to say of thats an error or not. Maybe it's the round headlight and the windshield.

The C differed in that it had a rear disc brake. They also built a T version. I believe it had the windshield and and the same seat as the K100RT. I think they all had the same engine true the entire line. They all make good commuter and touring bikes and they seem to have their own cult following.

Actually all the C's have a rear drum brake.
The S has a rear disc brake.
The K75 1990 and on had a rear disc.

When the Ks were introduced, they had a T variant, which looks pretty much like yours. It had a regular headlight, along with the tall, clear shield like you have. I believe they came with bags as well.

I know there was a K100 version and seem to remember a K75T as well. I think Dana Lewis had a K75T.

When the K75 line was introduced in 86 the first release was the C model followed by the almighty T in April. It's production run only lasted one year even though they sold some as 87's to clear out inventory. It had the best stock seat ever produced by BMW, so good in fact that Corbin all but copied it.
The T had a tall clear windshield that worked ok. I put 92,000 on my first one before I wadded it up (long story) only mechanical problem I experienced with that bike was flames coming out of the tailpipe (another long story). I currently have 2 K75T models. I long ago ditched the stock windshield for a Parabellum fairing which is a god send.
BMW made a "bikini" wind shield that attached to the headlight bezel and works great for summer commuting (feel the breeze).
I had two friends one with a C the other with an S. The only differance we found riding each others bikes was ride position, and the S seemed to turn quicker. Having said that. when I ride the K/T with the bikini windshield it "feels" lighter and quicker than the Parabellum equiped bike. It is just perception because both bikes have swapped parts many times.
I love to pass sport bike riders that are hunched over doing 80 sitting bolt upright on my T, makes me smile everytime.
Hope that answers some questions.

A good example of a K75T...
Notice the black bezel around the headlight.

I like the styling and comfort the RT provides but I'll be the first to tell you that the fairing design of the RT is a pure unadulterated B***h when it comes to doing maintenance on the bike. It is over complicated and takes way too long to remove.

Another thing to consider is that many K75s models had C handlebars installed. Mine came with the C bars and I got the stock handlebar and windshield as well. The taller bars and windshield makes for a more comfy riding position but the bike still has the firmer suspension of the s model. Not sure if the footpegs are higher on the s or not.

One thing's for sure, you don't see K75 or K100s every day, and it's kinda neat when non-motorcycle people look at my bike and think it's a newer BMW design.

Mine is a 1994 model and I added the windscreen that's on the T model. Some don't like that windscreen but I do. Shortly after I bought the bike in '94 my dealer (when we had one here) added some extensions that put the screen more upright.

K75s are good, do-everything bikes and even though I added an R1150R to the stable, I'd never sell my K75. I like both bikes equally.

This is the closest one to mine. Funny I have a bazzilion gigs of bike pics but almost none of the front of the K75. Mine came with those huge fog lights, I never liked them and finally replaced them. Notice my "custom" asymetrical mirrors. ;)

I completely agree with you. I once put the K75 up for sale, and realized I did not want to part with it. And despite new bikes joining the stable, I love riding that bike! :heart

Gail-
I think the assymetetrical mirrors give the bike more character.

Your saddle has caught my eye. Obviously, that cannot be stock, who made that saddle? How many miles are on the "rad"?

Am I correct in assuming that there is alot of mixing and matching of trim levels on the 75's?

Thank you,
Howard

About the 2nd day I owned the bike I dropped in the garage, clipping a mirror. I called the local dealer for a replacement. They asked if I needed a high or low mirror. Be damned if I knew and promptly asked for the wrong one (I think I needed a short). At $45, I decided to leave it until I broke off another one.

The seat is a Corbin. I like it, and so does my 11 year old daughter, the back seat fits her well. The bike has around 70K on it.

I think this is a K75C but it looks like the S model. I took the pic at the Georgia Mountain Rally. Yes, that's a person under the tarp.

I will admit to being biased, but that is a sweet looking 14 year old bike !! K75s of the "S" variety sure do age well.

This is my T. Still has the stock seat although the foam died a couple of years ago, going to resolve that issue soon given that my butt's not broken but it does have a crack, (sorry about that).
Parabelum fairing and fender, K & N air filter, white bros. shock.
