Picking up my Crystal Grey K1200GT tomorrow. The Crystal Grey (the one that looks ivory in all the pictures) is very very light silver. Decided to take it over the blue since my dealer has no idea when a blue one will show up.
Now it's time to figure out how to mount all the gadgets. You gotta love new bikes. They're always an adventure!

The weather isn't cooperating today, so the ride report will have to wait. :(

Nice colour. And nice edgy styling.
I'm trying to get on one of the BMW Canada demo GT's this morning, but the list filled up in about 2 days. Might have to settle for a K 1200 S ride.
Have a good spring, and be careful with all that horsepower for just the first short while.

I'll post a ride report when I actually get to ride. :(
Between work and rain, I haven't had a good quality ride on the bike yet.

Thanks for the early report. Keep them coming (after you get tired of riding.) Many of us I'm sure are lurking waiting to get first hand info on this machine. :lurk I for one have eliminated all choices for my next bike except the GT and the RT. Info from folks like you is very much apprieciated.

BMW Grand Rapids had one to demo at the Battle Creek mini rally this past weekend. Very nice looking - the pictures don't do this bike justice. But since I just bought the RT, I was really afraid to do a test ride!

I demo'd one this weekend, and it is the first bike I would consider to replace the 96K1100Lt. What a great ride, handling was excellent, only negative was wind noise no matter what windshield position it was noiser than my stock LT.
my .02 cents

But the bike doesn't match your helmet? :blah
Seriously, congratulations. It's a great looking bike!

It's a wonder why Cee Baileys, Aeroflow, and Parabellum make so much money. LOL. Cee Baileys should have a GT windshield very soon.

Damn Jeff,
I was all ready to buy one from the Plano dealer until I saw that guy in your photo with the Sh^*T eating grin on his face.

PS: and you can tell him I said so.

If you go on BMW's home page and dial in the 1200GT: A) There's no way anyone would think their Crystal Grey looks anything near what it actually is. It looks like a greenish pearl white. B) If you check out "Available equipment" for the GT, it shows a "Tall Windshield" option for a $95 up charge.
Did your bike came with their standard or their so called "Tall" windshield ?

All of the initial K1200GTs came with the tall windshield. But I've got to tell ya, the windshield sucks. Blasts right at the chinbar in the lower settings, and buffets the hell out of you at highter settings. I found a mid setting, but still too much turbulence for my taste. I guess that's why Aeroflow, Parabellum, and Cee Baileys are in business. :D
