I'm gonna vote for BMWRider. He said he'd make me minister of Internal Combustion.
:burnout
Pat Paulsen...one of the very best. :thumb
...and more alive than most of those guys on the list.

Assuming either the Left Wing or the Right Wing gained control of the country, it would probably fly around in circles.

I guess I am not surprised considering his avatar, but I went to EB's Bush-bashing site and found tons of reasons reminding me why I will vote for George Bush! :rolleyes

For how many years did Congress (and I use the shift key reluctantly) investigate a backwater subdivision deal which netted our FORMER president some money.
Now our current Vice (read it as you may) Presiden't former employer is netting MILLIONS daily by providing services on an open ended contract with our government in Iraq.
Our Attorney General has suspended OUR Constitution, by "detaining" some Arabics (reasons yet untold, despite Court order to do so).
We are told by some "Fox" types that we should be brought up on charges on treason by questioning or protesting against an invasion of a country based on reasons that are known to be false or have yet to be proved.
The war on terroism has been suspended for the war on Iraq.
I could go on and on and I will.
This, by a President who won the election by less than the majority of the popular vote and stole the election in the Electorial College.
Manufacturing jobs are being sent to the Far East by ""American" corporations based off island to avoid taxes.
Taxes are cut for the top few percent of "citizens". I know that I might save a hundred bucks this year.
And yet they follow this great Man from the confederacy of Texas, educated at Yale, because he failed the admission exam to law school at UT. This great fighter that did a couple years in the National Guard defending Texas from...Oklahoma then punked out on the balance of his tour of duty.
Bottom line, this country is being sold out to the highest bidder.
One man one vote. Sure. One dollar one vote, more like it
I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
I ain't got no shoes and the spiders is sleepin' with the bees. I hope, with the help of my hapless son, that I can have the bunker built by election time.
George Leroy Tirebiter for President and God help us all.

Great pic! Pat and I spent a couple of hours getting dronk at his winery many years ago. He was a tremendous wit and had an amazing understanding of the political culture in America. He was much more serious than I expected. I miss him.

Two reasons I rarely waste my time with Internet political discussions:
1) The discusssion almost always immediately turns away from issues and toward name calling.
[Surpised your not riding a '30's, early '40s vintage BMW.] - Beemeron
Just becaue you apparently disagree with me does not make me a Nazi.
2) People do not actually read and understand posts before responding.
I wrote [I went to EB's Bush-bashing site and found tons of reasons reminding me why I will vote for George Bush!]
EB's response [Do you really disagree with all of them?]
Never did I state anything like "I disagree with all of them."
See? Relatively pointless exercise.
The good news is that it is sunny and 65 degrees and I am going for a ride (which is not a pointless exercise!)
Political discussions are best left to forums that cater to them, rather than relatively narrowly focused motorcycle forums such as this one.
Nobody is going to change anybody else's mind, and quite frankly, politicis is one of the last things I want to discuss when sitting around the campfire, sucking suds, after a long day's ride.
Just my take.

I'm in agreement with fish. It doesn't really interest me. If it gets ugly, we'll lock down the thread and throw it in the doghouse.
Besides, while we will allow you guys to talk about pretty much whatever you want, the no name calling rule will not be violated.
Now get out and go for a ride. It's September already and some of you guys are running out of riding time.

Once again just like in the debates, the candidate for the 3rd largest political party in the US is ignored. I will vote for Mr Smith, the libertarian candidate.

KBasa, you're a hoser!
This poll has served its purpose for me. It was meant to see if everyone had the same right leaning slant I've found on another board. They don't.
VBulletin gives moderators too much control over polls.

What most people seem to conveniently forget is that the economy does not change the day a new president takes office.
It is inherited from the previous administration.
What most people seem to forget is that the previous president was also elected by a minority of voters.
As 44 % of the public is functionally illiterate how does anyone expect to see all the people vote?:snore
If we are lucky we may get 40 to 50 % of eligable voters to turn up at all.
Anyway no matter who holds the seat, I'd much rather be riding anyway:clap

I hate to discuss politics in the cyber-world because, in a face-to-face discussion, I can usually find some common ground with even the most conservative moron.
While not opposed to a level-headed discussion about anything, and even enjoy some mud-slinging, the politic thing easily gets some of we Homers all flamed up and personal.
In this forum, levelling topics probably won't be our kids or wives/husbands, pure discussions of right and wrong, etc.
Political discussions are more likely to drift toward other
crap that our Daddies tought us and that we hold too dear;
The more "meaty" topics that may tend to divide us.
Although, for some strange reason (call it freedom) I will defend anyone's right to disagree with me, let our common ground, here, be "all things bikes".

you know I can't decide what to ride, the RT or the F650.
Trying to keep riding and politics seperate was why I really admire what Don said when he resigned, it was a personal commitment he made. No sense in stirring up stuff.:clap
Now back to your regularly scheduled forum... for those of you who disagree, feel free to get involved in the forums as this forum is a volunteer endevaor.
