I finally have my bike reassembled after having it painted. Added new fuel and attempted to turn it over. The battery sounded a little low so I charged while I was out of town and when I got back I attempted to start it and still no luck. Any suggestions on getting it started?

Will post pixs of the paint job later this weekend if I can get it running.

Some batteries just won't take a charge. Maybe you just have a bad battery. Use a voltmeter to check your battery voltage before looking for more exotic problems.

Try jumping it off of your car. I have had similar problems if possible check the gravity of the battery after charging it for 24 hours if the gravity is not consistant in all cells, time for a change. Also, if its several years old and has sat in the bike during the non-riding season without a trickle charger it won't do you any good either.
Back to my first point a quick jump off of a known good source has always started my bike right up.

Don't think its the battery, Its less than a year old. Seems like I'm not getting fuel to the engine. When I pulled the tank off for painting had to drain it so I also replaced the fuel filter. Question is do I need to prime it and if so what is the correct method.

When you momentarily push the start button, do you hear the fuel pump run for 3-4 seconds on release?
Unfortunately, I've found that if a fuel pump hasn't been "preserved" after having been in service, the rollers in the pump mech corrode & will not build pressure anymore. It usually results in rotor lockup.
I hope this isn't the case... Good Hunting... <<<)))

Helps if one remembers to plug in all of the connections. Sarge, you nailed it no fuel pump sound and I went to the Clymer book and found that if you want the electronic fuel pump to work you have to connect it to an electrical source....novel concept. :rolleyes
