Who can post and read ads?

Anyone that is a registered member of the BMW MOA can post an ad if they are not a dealer or a vendor. Only registered members of the 'MOA can read the complete text of an ad.

    Why members only?

The BMW MOA's on-line flea market, just like the flea market in the Owners News, is a member service. By making it member's only, those participating can trust that those shopping the classifieds are fellow BMW enthusiasts. Most important, they are protected from the spam that plagues other on-line classifieds.

Can spammers get my e-mail address from the Flea Market?

Because the Flea Market is members only and all e-mail addresses and other contact information is behind a login, you shouldn't receive any spam because of an ad you post. If you suspect that you have received spam because you posted an ad, please send a note to .

Do ads have to wait for approval before being displayed?

Ads are live as soon as they are submitted by the member.

    What is RSS??

RSS is a way to "feed" or distribute on-line content. It is a popular way to aggregate updates and information from a wide range of sites in one location. By subscribing to the Flea Market's RSS, a user can be kept up to date on the latest Flea Market ads without having to visit the Flea Market.

How do I submit an ad?

In the left navigation, you can click on "Submit New Ad" or on "New Ad" under "Manage My Ads". You can also choose the appropriate button on the Flea Market home page.

Follow the three step process of choosing the ad category, filling out the information about the item, and then, if you wish, attach up to six images.

If you have multiple items to sell, please don't try to fit them into one ad. Place an ad for each item in the appropriate category.

Do not misrepresent your self or the item for sale.

How do I resize and attach an image?

You can attach up to six images to an ad. First, you need to resize the images so that they are less than 500 kb in size. The smaller they are, the quicker they will upload. To learn how to resize an image, there is an excellent thread, How do I post a picture?, in our forum (ignore step 6).

Once you've resized the image(s), and after you've filled in the information about the item you are selling, click on the button "Choose File" on the Step 3. Attach Image page. You will attach each image one at a time. When all of the images are uploaded, select "Finished" at the bottom of that page.

How do I edit, delete or renew an ad?

In the left navigation, towards the bottom you will see a link for "Manage Ads". On this page you will find a list of all of your current ads, including ones you've marked as sold. At the end of the row for each ad is a list of links - Ad | Images | Delete | Mark Sold/For Sale | Renew. To edit an ad, choose "Ad". To edit the images attached to an ad or ad images, choose "Images". To delete an ad, choose "Delete". If you are uncertain if you really wish to delete an ad or if you wish to tag it as sold, choose "Mark Sold" to hide an ad from other user's view. If you wish to renew the ad for an additional 30 days, choose "Renew".

All but "Delete" are available from the detailed view of an ad in the lower right under "Quick Links". These links are only shown to the user that posted the ad.

How long is an Ad posted?

An ad is posted initially for 30 days. You can renew it for up to an additional 60 days. You will receive an e-mail notice one week prior to the expiration of an ad.
