Redmond, Oregon, on July 19-22, 2001
(44-15-14.642N 121-08-59.868W, 3,077 feet above sea level)

Surrounded by juniper trees, Redmond is a high desert community on a flat plateau sitting at the western edge of Oregon's High Desert, just four miles from the Deschutes River, one half hour ride from the Cascade Mountains and within minutes of several lakes.

The climate is semi-arid, with a mean annual precipitation of 8.64 inches. Residents enjoy a high percentage of sunny days with four distinct seasons, each bringing refreshingly different weather patterns.

Free guided tours are available at the Redmond Air Center, the U. S. Forest Service smoke jumping, fire fighting and training center.

Watch this space for monthly updates.  This will be a "life time event."

Gray Buckley, Rally Chair
