Key Volunteer Award

February 21 2010

This award is designed to recognize members who, through a significant donation of their time and talents, have been instrumental in ensuring the successful completion of an event, or for ongoing and continuous efforts over a significant period of time.

Although the BMW MOA has been diligent in recognizing the efforts of its members over long periods of time, there exists no formal way to thank those who, in a given year, have contributed significantly to the club.

The Key Volunteer Award (KVA) may be awarded to members meeting the criteria on a yearly basis, one award per member per year.  In order to maximize the award's impact and credibility, the number of KVA's awarded may be up to but should never exceed 5 in any one year.

Any member may recommend another member to be considered for a KVA.  However, it is expected that most nominations will be made by members of BMW MOA staff and Board of Directors.  Currently serving Board Members are not eligible for this award.  Nominations will be evaluated by the Executive Director and brought forward to the Board for ratification at the January Board Meeting.

The actual award would include a pin with a unique key design, a sticker for their bike, and a certificate.   In addition, the KVA recognition board will be located at BMW MOA Headquarters with the names of the recipients.
