This month begins a year of celebration of our 40th Anniversary, and provides us the opportunity to not only recognize this great milestone but also to appreciate the road we took getting here, and consider the one we'll travel into the future.

The BMW MOA Foundation (BMW MOAF) has announced the hiring of the first Executive Director for the organization. Ted Moyer was appointed to the position, reporting to Don Braasch, President of the BMW MOA Foundation.

On November 12, 2011 the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America was proud to present the Friend of the Marque Award to Matthew Parkhouse at a local club event in Colorado Springs. This is a very prestigious international award decided by representatives of BMW clubs worldwide who are members of the BMW Clubs International Council.

We have wonderful benefits, hundreds of chartered clubs (meaning lots of rallies), a monthly magazine, the legendary Anonymous Book, the annual International Rally, special regional events, and a lot more. Whether you are 16 or 60, there is something for you in the BMW MOA.

"I rode more than some and not as much as other and definitely not as much as I'd like." We may have thought these or similar words when it comes to riding.  The BMW MOA  Mileage Contest is one venue that gives some of us the motivation to get on the road.  Others need only the sun to rise to get going and they might even let out during the hours of darkness.

This past April, Dr. Larry Stern, a 58-year-old orthopedic surgeon from St. Paul, MN, organized a 10-day bike trip through the winding highways around the foothills of the Himalayas in Thimphu, Bhutan.

The BMW MOA hosts an International Rally in July each year. This event, referred to as the 'National' is held in a different location throughout North America each year so that as many members as possible can attend.
