There's a couple of thousand private and public campgrounds here in Montana. Anyone who was truly "humble" would never be so bold as to recommend only two of them. I however don't suffer from that handicap, so here are two of my favorites:

Elkhorn Guest Ranch
20 miles east of Missoula on I-90, Rock Creek exit #126, then south for 4 miles. Located on Rock Creek, world-famous blue ribbon trout stream. (That's pronounced "crick" if you're from around here originally.) 406-825-3220.

Lolo Hot Springs
25 miles west of Lolo on famous US Hwy. 12
