"We're excited to 'go national' with this new sport of Motomarathon, and take advantage of the incredible roads and climate of Southern California," said founding Route Master John Metzger.
The Motomarathon Association runs an annual series of four-day rides over the best roads and through the best scenery in the country. Routes remain secret until the night before each day's ride, then verified at day's end through self-recorded checkpoints using digital or cell phone cameras. "The format has struck a nerve with today's sport-touring riders, and with Motomarathon sponsors Ducati North America (bikes), Aerostich (clothing) and Wolfman (luggage)," said Metzger.

It's going to be a blast. As for becoming a sponsor on our site, it's pretty straight forward. We charge $100/yr. That gets you a banner in the rotation at the top of every page, a static 125x125 banner on the home page and forum listing page, your own forum in the Sponsors section, mention in our newsletter, Supporting Sponsor tag below your name, etc. $100/yr is dirt cheap. We do this because we make ZERO profit from the site. Every penny we charge our sponsors goes straight back to the site for things like parties, free stickers, etc. More details on the above Web sites.

For anyone attending the BMW MOA International Rally in Oregon later this year, we are pleased to announce the Redmond 1000 long distance challenge. This is a special SaddleSore 1000 ride (1000 miles in 24 hours) organized and sanctioned by the Iron Butt Association especially for the Rally.
The Redmond 1000 allows riders to begin their ride between 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 13th and 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 15. However, riders must finish in Redmond 24 hours after they begin and no later than 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 16. In an effort to simplify the documentation requirements, participants will also be able to start in one of three locations east and south of Redmond: Mesquite, NV, Cheyenne, WY or Miles City, MT.
Finishers will receive a distinctive certificate worthy of framing, as well as other Iron Butt Association gifts at a unique Pizza Party ceremony. Founded by Iron Butt Rally veterans during Daytona Bike week, the Pizza Party is an IBA custom steeped in tradition. Pre-registration will be required in order to participate in this special event. We will announce the details, once finalized, in the Owners News and on the MOA forum. Stay tuned. Please send any questions about this event to me at .

Redmond, Oregon2010 Rally -- the Dechutes Expo Center.
Deschutes County Fair
and Expo Center
3800 SW Airport Way
Redmond, Oregon 97756
You with your family and friends are invited to the 38th BMW MOA International Rally being held at the Deschutes County Fair and Expo Center in Redmond, Oregon. The official dates are July 15 - 18, 2010 - but we will open Registration at noon on the 14th to provide time to get familiar with the grounds, the area and start relaxing after your ride. The theme of this year's rally is Ride, Rally and Relax in Redmond. For many of us attending the MOA Rally is our time away from work, a time to reconnect with friends from various parts of the world, an opportunity to travel to a new area or return to an area that has fond memories, and to visit the Vendors to see and touch the latest accessories and apparel and look for the item(s) that you can't readily find in your home area and items you can't live without. New for this year is an emphasis on meeting riders from your state/province/region to celebrate the character of our many local clubs. As the Fair and Expo Center grounds are large, we are able to offer an area for chartered clubs to have a tent brought in or use a club trailer as a focal point for activities. The tent or trailer will be in the loud camping area, but no generators are allowed and no roping off an area is permitted. We'll provide sufficient space between club tents and trailers to accommodate campers. To do this - we must know the size and delivery time of your tent or trailer to the grounds no later than thirty (30) days prior to the rally - so, please, by June 14th. March 1 is opening day for Rally Pre-registration and the registration for RVs and dry camping. 106 Sites are available for full service hook-up in the RV Park. The designated dry camping area is available at no charge and will be used for all individual trailers not pulled by a motorcycle. 541-548-2711The premiere riding event in Colorado is now in its 38th year. With arguably some of the best riding in the nation, the "Top O' the Rockies Rally" is sure to have something for everyone. From three nights of live entertainment, a complimentary dinner prepared by the great folks in Paonia, the Beer Garden hosted by the American Legion, Wine Tours, Door Prizes, and plenty of Food and Merchandise vendors, you're sure to enjoy this bit of small town Colorado. The park, nestled in the center of town, offers plenty of shaded camping within walking distance of downtown, and several quiet camping options. Much of your $50 registration ($60 after June 27th) is used to support local Programs, Projects, and Charities. These great organizations realize a significant portion of their revenue as a result of this Rally. We offer 10 permanent and 20 portable toilets, showers located in the Park, at the High School with shuttle service (3/4 mile for those that like a little exercise), and motel and alternative camping options to make your stay enjoyable. Paonia is located 70 miles from Glenwood Springs off of Interstate 70 (via Hwy 82 & 133) or 27 miles from Delta (Hwy 92 & 133). GPS coordinates are N38.86963 W107.59735. It all began with a few BMW enthusiasts, who met at Broken Bow, Oklahoma, over three days in September, 2000. They created the opportunity for owners and riders to get together, 'in real life', outside of the internet. The camaraderie and joy of the ride at that beginning leads us still. The CCR event promotes three fundamental goals: to present a positive view of motorcycling; to promote rider education and safety; and to make a positive impact by contributing to a worthy local group serving children to help them achieve its charitable purpose in the host community. At the end of this summer, ride to beautiful Killington Vermont and spend August 31 through September 3, 2010 with us at the premier hotel based Motorcycle Touring event of the year. Vermont is the Green Mountain State, and we'll be right there in the middle of it. Killington Resort will welcome the Curve Cowboys for our 11th Reunion as the trees begin to put on their fall colors. We'll wind up Highway 4, to the Killington Road and up Killington Mountain to enjoy cool mornings, pleasant afternoons, and a few hundred of our closest friends. CCR is open to anyone, regardless of their preferred brand or model of motorcycle, but the event grew out of the BMW Luxury Touring Community at http://www.bmwlt.com (formerly the K1200LT Group at YahooGroups) and continues to be dominated by BMW touring and dual sport motorcycles. If this is sounds like what you've been looking for, take a virtual tour of CCR and visit the rest of our website and watch the tension build as August nears. You should know this event is put on entirely by volunteers and the format and venue always force us to limit attendance. Most years we have we have sold out our available space well in advance of the event, so we urge you to reserve your spot as soon as you can. We look forward to seeing you at this year's Curve Cowboy Reunion. Don't miss out on CCR this year!
